| Why build a website? |
|
Many small business contemplate the purpose for them to have a website. I have heard people convince themselves that they do not need a website. Ok. We don't need cars either... I mean, humanity survived for thousands of years without them, right? However, just like cars, websites can be a great vehicle to get us places quicker and more efficiently. Here are a few reasons to have a website: 1. Always onYour website is always working for you, day and night. It is answering questions, passing on valuable information, representing your organization and hopefully looking pretty! 2. Your competitors have one!Your customers need their goods and services from someone. How they go about finding that someone is largely up to you! Perhaps your advertising and marketing campaign is limited to the Yellow Pages and print media. If that's the case, your missing out a herculean demographic of web users. That's the demographic community your competitors are going after! 3. Low cost to maintain.Putting your website online requires a small monthly hosting fee. For most small businesses, this is less than $20 a month. Many websites that we build can be maintained by you (if you choose). We use a model called "Content Management System" or CMS. This system is a database driven website that allows you to manipulate the information or content of your website with little or no programming skills. Or if you like, we are happy to discuss the options that we offer to maintain your website. 4. Unlike print, you can always make changes. There are few worse feelings, than pulling a large print job off the press and finding errors... those gloomy spelling errors, shifting images, blocks of text that run off the page... you know what I'm talking about. The beauty of the web is that you can easily make corrections. Change a phone number, change your logo, fix a spelling error, etc. These are small changes that can be done morning, noon or night. |
