Recently, I have spoken with several small business owners, all of whom have been considering upgrading their website, but wondering if this is the best time to spend the money. It is a good and fair question. To me, the simplest answer is "What are your competitors doing?" If your competitors are spending money to market themselves, whether online or in print, I highly suggest, at the very least, keeping up with them. You are competing for the same customers, and the customer's perception of your goods and services are going to be based on what they see of yours. If you have a website that is 9 years old... or no website at all, and your competitor just put a clean, modern website online, which company do you think they will hire? |
